PRODUCT & PROCESS ENGINEERING

cignaling is developing for Thales a high sensitivity infrared vision module that improves the vision of aircraft pilots in degraded conditions (darkness, snow, fog, smoke, fire…).

The solution allows the pilot and co-pilot helmets to interact with FPGAs, 8 cameras, adaptation cards and an inertial unit.

cignaling specifies, designs and validates the embedded software (UML model), the image processing algorithms, the control/command interface and integrates it with the computer and the cameras.

cignaling conducts mechanical studies on the problems of cracking of the frames of double-deck TGV engines for Alstom and designs the replacement engine frame.

Technology now enables manufacturers to offer more complex products, integrating, for example, inter-connectivity or “smart product” capabilities. The development of these products can now take into account increasingly strong constraints in terms of space or weight savings, improved performance or environmental impact, increased resistance and durability or safety of use.

In terms of modeling and system design, the answer is to define “systems of systems”, a set of reliable components and bricks whose reusability rate is as optimal as possible in order to reduce the costs of rework and adaptation. This is facilitated by the deployment of design and production tools and processes that bring this system approach, collaborative work and modularity of systems and test strategies.

These developments are becoming more respectful of our planet. Industry is rethinking the way it produces energy and manufactured products, manages supply and distribution, and the impact of its products on consumer habits, by maximizing energy efficiency and minimizing waste and polluting emissions.

The industrial sector is benefiting from a major transformation of its operational and organizational models, with digital technologies being integrated into the heart of industrial processes. The implementation of “smart factories” thus offers an extraordinary field of innovation, progress and growth.
